🏯 Cultural Note:
The Yonekura clan (米倉氏) was a fudai samurai family with origins in Kai Province. After the fall of the Takeda, they entered Tokugawa service and were later appointed daimyō of Mutsuura Domain in Musashi Province.
The crest shown here – Rokkaku-ni Mokko – features a stylized quince flower framed inside a hexagon. It symbolized order and continuity, and was used by the Yonekura in official documents and banners. While similar mokko crests appear among other families, this hexagonal form is specifically associated with the Yonekura.
米倉氏は、甲斐国を出自とする譜代の武家であり、武田氏滅亡後に徳川氏に仕えて頭角を現しました。のちに武蔵国の六浦藩を治める大名となりました。
