Makino Clan Mon T-Shirt
MORE SAMURAI KAMON The Makino clan are a daimyō branch of the samurai Minamoto clan in Edo period Japan.
In the Edo period, the Makino were identified as one of the fudai or insider daimyō clans which were hereditary vassals of the Tokugawa clan, in contrast with the tozama or outsider clans.
The Kashiwa is one of the 10 most used family emblems (Jūdaimon) in Japan. In ancient times, Japanese people presented offerings to their gods using oak leaves as trays. Since then the oak has been considered a sacred tree.
