Akizuki Clan Crest T-Shirt – Symbol of Elegance & Resilience

$25.00

🛡️ Design Description

This T-shirt features the "Mitsu-Nadeshiko" (三つ撫子), the kamon (family crest) of the Akizuki clan (秋月氏). The design showcases three fringed flowers (nadeshiko), symbolizing elegance, resilience, and traditional feminine beauty.

The Akizuki clan, established in Chikuzen Province around 1190 by Minamoto no Yoritomo, played significant roles during the Nanboku-chō and Sengoku periods. They supported the Southern Court and resisted Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Kyushu campaign in 1587. Afterward, they were relocated to Hyūga Province, where they remained into the Edo period. The movie director Akira Kurosawa directed a movie about the Akizuki clan, called The Hidden Fortress (The Hidden Fortress (The Hidden Fortress of the Akizuki Clan), in 1958. In the film, the clan crest is depicted as a crescent. The Hidden Fortress was remade in 2008 by director Shinji Higuchi. MORE SAMURAI KAMON 👈
